About the Centre

This is an Educational and Healing Centre looking at the world of plants from a Traditional Healer (Sangoma / Shamanic) perspective of the world and life around them. The centre focuses on the life of the Zulu Sangomas and their connection to nature, specifically the plant and tree world as their healing is based on the uses of traditional medicines, the majority of which is plant material.

Sangomas, Traditional Healers and Shamans, have to treat the plant world as sacred and must show the plants and plant world total respect, gratitude and love in order for the plant world to give of its highest potential of healing energy and healing properties. The centre is a portal or doorway into the fascinating world of plants and the Sangoma’s and Shamans who connect deeply with them and use them to heal those in need. The plants are reliant as we are to the 5 elements of nature; water, air, earth, fire and energy or space, in which to thrive and grow. Without any one of the elements the plants would die.

The centre is also a training centre for complementary healing courses and caters for school groups wishing to learn about Zulu culture, its ancient wisdom and knowledge which has so much relevance for us today.

The Sacred World of Plants is of the Indlela Yezempilo (the way of health) Trust, which is a non-profit organisation which promotes traditional Zulu wisdom and knowledge in healing as well as traditional healing knowledge form all over the world and who aim to empower people to their own healing potential.

Donations for this trust will be most welcome and will go a long way to support our education outreach programs.
